23 Mar Ọya advised I&P and BIO on the creation of ACEP Group, a new microfinance group serving African entrepreneurs
The impact investment fund I&P Afrique Entrepreneurs, the Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries (BIO) and ACEP International Ltd join forces to create ACEP Group, one of the leaders in microfinance in Africa and already present in three countries (Niger, Burkina Faso and Madagascar).
With a capital of 11.9 million euros, ACEP Group becomes the reference shareholder of ACEP Burkina SA (a micro-finance institution created in 2009), ACEP Niger SA (a micro-finance institution created in 2012) and ACEP Madagascar SA (a micro-finance institution created in 2009).
Through these three institutions and ACEP Cameroun SA which will soon join the group, ACEP Group manages a loan portfolio of 110 million euros, provides financing solutions to 140,000 entrepreneurial clients, supported by teams made up of 1,300 employees.
